All of our Sparkling Water Makers have different features, but the setup is similar for most. In your SodaStream Sparkling Water Maker box you should also have a 1L reusable carbonating bottle and a Quick Connect CO2 cylinder. Our CO2 cylinders are the magic that adds bubbles to your water. And each one makes up to 60L of sparkling water, depending on how fizzy you like it. When your cylinder is empty, all you need to do is swap it for another full one, which you can do at most major retailers or service stations. Just head to our Store Locator to find your closest swap spot.

To set up your Sparkling Water Maker, take off the packaging, remove the back panel from your machine and the lid off your CO2 cylinder, and pop the cylinder in with one click using the lever. And now you’re ready to go!

To sparkle your water, simply fill your carbonating bottle to the fill line with cold tap water. We recommend you use cold water as it carbonates better and stays fizzy for longer. You might like to chill it for a few hours before carbonating if you like. Just remember, don’t fill it past the line or you might have overflow.

Snap the bottle into place (Sparkle Tip: keep your hand on top of the machine while I’m putting it in to make sure it’s in properly) and press the button or lever to carbonate your water. Most of our models are press button, but if you have the Art, you’ll have a carbonation lever. Make sure to only press the button for 1-2 seconds, as if you hold it down too long, you might make a fizzy mess.

For a heavy fizz, to press 5-6 times. If you like a light fizz, pump 2 times, for a medium fizz pump 3-4 times.
